Ingredients
Base Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/4 cup powdered peanut butter (e.g., PB2)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (~3 Tbsp.)
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla pudding mix
Mix-ins and Toppings
- 3 Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, plus more for garnishing
- 1-2 Tbsp. creamy peanut butter (such as Skippy or Jif)
- Reese’s Pieces (optional)
Instructions
- Mix the base ingredients: Add whole milk, powdered peanut butter, vanilla protein powder, and vanilla pudding mix into an empty Ninja Creami Pint.
- Whisk the mixture: Whisk all ingredients together well, or use a milk frother to incorporate everything thoroughly for a smooth base.
- Freeze the base: Place the pint in the freezer on a level surface with the lid off, and freeze for 24 hours. Leaving the lid off prevents formation of a hump on top which could damage the Creami blade during processing.
- Assemble the machine: Remove the frozen pint from the freezer, place it into the Ninja Creami outer bowl, lock the lid on, place the bowl on the motor base, twist the handle to raise the platform, and lock it into place.
- Process the base: Select the ‘Lite Ice Cream’ function on the Creami and allow it to churn the mixture into ice cream. This initial spin should produce a smooth texture without the need for a respin.
- Add mix-ins: Use a spoon to create a small 1 ½ inch wide hole in the center of the ice cream. Insert the mini peanut butter cups and creamy peanut butter into this hole, then run the ‘Mix-in’ program on the Ninja Creami once to incorporate these ingredients evenly.
- Serve: Remove the pint from the machine and enjoy immediately. Garnish with additional mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or Reese’s Pieces if desired for extra flavor and texture.
Notes
- Freeze the pint with the lid off to avoid damaging the Creami’s blade during processing.
- Use a milk frother for smoother mixing of the base ingredients.
- If you don’t have mini peanut butter cups, Reese’s Pieces or other similar candy can be used as mix-ins.
- This recipe is designed specifically for the Ninja Creami machine and may not work as well with other ice cream makers.
- Enjoy immediately after mixing in toppings for best texture and flavor.
