Ingredients
Iced Chai Tea Latte
- 1/2 cup concentrated chai tea
- 1/2 cup milk (whole or 2%)
- Ice, to fill glass
- Optional: 1-2 tablespoons apple brown sugar syrup
Apple Crisp Cream Topping
- 2 teaspoons apple brown sugar syrup
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon milk (preferably whole or 2%)
Instructions
- Chill Bowl and Whisk: Place a small bowl and whisk in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes to chill. This helps in achieving better whipped cream consistency.
- Prepare Apple Crisp Cream: In the chilled bowl, combine 1/4 cup heavy cream, 1 tablespoon milk, and 2 teaspoons apple brown sugar syrup. Whisk vigorously until the mixture thickens and becomes creamy, similar to the texture of melted ice cream. Keep your hands warm away from the bowl to maintain the chill.
- Set Aside Cream: Return the whipped cream mixture to the freezer while you prepare the chai latte to keep it cold and thick.
- Mix Iced Chai Latte: In a 16-ounce or larger cup, pour 1/2 cup chai tea concentrate and 1/2 cup milk. For sweeter flavor, optionally stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons apple brown sugar syrup.
- Add Ice: Fill the cup with ice, leaving about a half-inch space at the top for the cream topping.
- Top With Apple Crisp Cream: Whisk the apple crisp cream again to thicken if needed, then slowly pour it on top of the iced chai latte to create a layered effect.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally, sprinkle ground cinnamon over the cream for added aroma and flavor. Serve immediately and enjoy the creamy apple-spiced drink.
Notes
- Use freshly chilled cream and milk for best whipping results.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less apple brown sugar syrup to taste.
- For a vegan alternative, substitute dairy milk and cream with plant-based versions like oat milk and coconut cream.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the texture contrast between the cold chai and creamy topping.
- Ground cinnamon garnish adds authentic chai spice aroma.
