These Healthy Gelatin Gummies for Kids are a fun and nutritious treat made from natural juice, honey, and grass-fed gelatin. They are easy to make with minimal ingredients, perfect for a homemade snack that kids will love. The gummies are free from artificial additives and can be customized with your favorite juice flavors.

  • Total Time: 4 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: About 20 small gummies

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup juice, of choice
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 cup unflavored grass-fed gelatin

Instructions

  1. Mix Gelatin and Juice: Add the juice to a saucepan and gently sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the juice without stirring. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to bloom without heating.
  2. Add Honey and Warm: Stir in the honey, then place the saucepan over medium-low heat. Warm the mixture gently, ensuring it does not boil, until the gelatin and honey dissolve completely and the mixture becomes liquid.
  3. Pour into Molds: Remove from heat and carefully pour the liquid gelatin mixture into silicone gummy bear molds using a glass measuring cup to avoid bubbles, rather than droppers.
  4. Set at Room Temperature: Let the filled molds sit out on the counter for 1 hour to start setting before refrigerating.
  5. Chill to Firm Up: Place the molds in the refrigerator for a few hours until the gummies are fully set and firm.
  6. Serve and Store: Pop the gummies out of the molds and enjoy. Store leftovers in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • Sprinkle the gelatin over the juice gently rather than dumping it all in at once to avoid lumps.
  • Add a splash of lemon juice for a tart flavor.
  • Avoid juices like papaya, pineapple, kiwi, or mango, as their enzymes can prevent gelatin from setting.
  • Maple syrup can be used as a honey substitute if preferred.
  • Fill the silicone molds fully for better-shaped gummies.
  • Place molds on a cookie sheet when refrigerating to catch any spills.
