Instructions
- Prep Bang Bang Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, and honey until smooth. Adjust the spiciness by adding more sriracha or balance the heat with extra honey or sweet chili sauce. Refrigerate the sauce until ready to serve.
- Cook Ground Turkey: Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and break it into small pieces with a spatula. Cook until browned and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Add Seasonings and Simmer: Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in minced garlic, grated ginger, smoked paprika, onion powder, soy sauce, sriracha, chicken broth, honey, black pepper, and sea salt. Simmer the mixture for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Thicken the Mixture: Sprinkle corn starch evenly over the turkey and stir well to combine. This will thicken the sauce in the skillet.
- Optional Mixing: For extra flavor, stir in about 2 tablespoons of the Bang Bang sauce into the turkey mixture just before serving.
- Assemble Rice Bowls: In bowls, layer cooked rice and your choice of veggies such as shredded carrots, cucumbers, edamame, pickled onions, avocado, and shredded cabbage. Spoon the ground turkey mixture on top, drizzle with more Bang Bang sauce, then garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- Store leftovers separately in airtight containers. The turkey mixture keeps for 3-4 days refrigerated, while the Bang Bang sauce lasts up to a week.
- You can freeze the ground turkey mixture, preferably tossed with some Bang Bang sauce, for up to 3 months.
- If the turkey mixture becomes dry, add more soy sauce or chicken broth while reheating to moisten it.
- The skillet remains hot when adding the liquids and seasonings, so the sauce may reduce quickly. Adjust with extra broth or soy sauce as needed.
