Ingredients
Gnocchi
- 1 lb Gnocchi (gluten free preferred)
Sauce
- 12 oz marinara, store bought or homemade
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
- 2 Tbs nutritional yeast
- 1/3 cup tahini
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the gnocchi: Boil water and cook the gnocchi according to the manufacturer’s instructions until they float to the surface, indicating they are done. Drain well and return them to the casserole or pot used for cooking.
- Prepare the garlic cream tomato sauce: Add the marinara sauce, tahini, chopped garlic, and nutritional yeast to the pot with the gnocchi. Warm the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally to combine and heat through thoroughly.
- Season and serve: Taste the sauce and season with salt and pepper as desired. Divide the gnocchi and sauce into bowls or plates and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- You can fry the gnocchi instead of boiling them. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add the gnocchi, and fry until golden brown and crispy on the outside for added texture.
- Using gluten free gnocchi keeps the dish suitable for gluten-sensitive diets.
- Nutritional yeast adds a cheesy, nutty flavor while keeping the dish vegan-friendly.
