Chicken Tetrazzini is a creamy, cheesy pasta casserole made with tender chicken, linguine, and a rich sour cream and cream of chicken soup sauce. Easy to prepare and perfect for a comforting family meal, this dish also freezes well for convenient make-ahead dinners.

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 1 (16-ounce) package linguine, or fettucine or spaghetti

Chicken and Sauce

  • 4 chicken breasts, cooked and diced
  • 2 (10.5-ounce) cans cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt with parsley flakes
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Cheese Topping

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish and set it aside to prepare the baking dish.
  2. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the noodles well and set them aside.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked and diced chicken breasts, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, softened butter, chicken broth, garlic salt with parsley flakes, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well combined. Stir in the cooked noodles, making sure the pasta is evenly coated with the creamy sauce.
  4. Assemble Casserole: Pour the chicken and pasta mixture into the prepared casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Add Cheese Topping: Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the casserole.
  6. Bake: Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 36 to 42 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden on top.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and let sit for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm.
