These Creamsicle Orange Cookies combine the sweet tang of orange with creamy white chocolate chips baked into soft, tender cookies using a white cake mix base. Infused with orange zest and orange gelatin powder, these cookies deliver a nostalgic creamsicle flavor in a simple, easy-to-make treat perfect for orange lovers.

  • Total Time: 22 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 24 cookies

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 15.25 ounces white cake mix (1 box)
  • 3 ounces orange gelatin powder (1 box)
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest

Wet Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons salted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

Add-ins

  • 11 ounces white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Mix dry ingredients. In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, whisk together the white cake mix, orange gelatin powder, and orange zest until they are fully combined, ensuring even distribution of flavors.
  3. Add wet ingredients and blend. Add the softened butter and eggs to the bowl. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the mixture just until combined, about 2 minutes, making sure to scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl to incorporate all ingredients uniformly.
  4. Fold in white chocolate chips. Gently fold the white chocolate chips into the cookie dough to distribute them evenly without overmixing and toughening the dough.
  5. Scoop and shape cookies. Use a 1½ tablespoon cookie scoop to portion out the dough. Roll each portion into a ball and place it on the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each ball to allow for spreading during baking.
  6. Bake. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 13 minutes, or until the edges are set but the cookies remain soft in the center.
  7. Cool. Remove the baking sheets from the oven and let the cookies cool on the sheet for about 10 minutes to allow them to firm up before transferring them to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
  8. Enjoy. Serve once cooled and enjoy the creamy orange-flavored delights!
