Ingredients
Tea
- 2 family sized tea bags
- 4 cups water, divided
Lemonade
- 3 cups water, divided
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¾ cup fresh lemon juice (about 5 juicy lemons)
- Lemon slices or wedges for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Tea: Boil 2 cups of water in a pot or kettle. Once boiling, add the 2 family sized tea bags and steep for 5 minutes to extract a strong flavor. After steeping, remove the tea bags and add the remaining 2 cups of cold water to dilute. Stir well, then refrigerate the brewed tea to cool completely, approximately 2 hours.
- Make the Lemonade: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of water and ¾ cup sugar. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely to create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, add the remaining 2 cups of cold water and ¾ cup of fresh lemon juice to the simple syrup. Stir thoroughly and refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours.
- Combine Tea and Lemonade: In a large pitcher, pour the cooled tea and lemonade together and mix gently to blend the flavors. Serve the Arnold Palmer over ice in glasses and garnish with lemon slices or wedges.
Notes
- Allow about 4 hours total for both the homemade tea and lemonade to cool completely in the refrigerator. Cooling overnight is even better for optimal flavor.
- For quicker preparation, you can use store-bought iced tea and lemonade instead of making both from scratch.
- This recipe yields approximately 7 cups of Arnold Palmer drink.
- To create spiked versions, consider adding vodka, bourbon, or gin to taste when serving.
