Ingredients
Beef Mixture
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 large yellow onion, diced
Sliders Assembly
- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 6 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
Topping
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp everything bagel seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) to prepare for baking the assembled sliders.
- Sauté Onions: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Sauté the diced yellow onion, stirring occasionally until softened and lightly translucent to develop flavor.
- Cook Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet with the onions. Cook, breaking it up as it browns, until fully cooked with no pink remaining, ensuring even cooking.
- Season Beef: Carefully drain any excess grease or liquid from the skillet. Return the beef mixture to the pan and stir in salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for about 1 minute until the seasonings are well incorporated and fragrant.
- Assemble Sliders: Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half. Place the bottom halves into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the bottom rolls, layer the cheddar cheese slices on top, then spread mayonnaise evenly over the cut side of the top rolls. Place the top halves over the cheese and beef layers.
- Bake Sliders: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted thoroughly and the sliders are heated through.
- Prepare Topping: Melt the butter in the microwave using 30-second increments to avoid burning. Stir in everything bagel seasoning.
- Finish and Serve: Brush the seasoned melted butter mixture over the tops of the baked rolls to add extra flavor before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute cheddar cheese with American cheese or your favorite melting cheese for variation.
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- If you don’t have Hawaiian rolls, dinner rolls or slider buns can be used instead.
- Butter topping can be omitted or replaced with garlic butter for more flavor.
- Serve with pickles, ketchup, mustard, or your preferred condiments for extra taste.
