Ingredients
Big Mac Sauce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon dill pickle juice
- ½ tablespoon dill pickle, minced
- ½ tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
Pizza
- 1 pound ground beef (medium fat)
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 ready-to-top pizza crust (approximately 12 inches)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded lettuce
- 2-3 pickles, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to prepare for baking the pizza.
- Make Big Mac Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, dill pickle juice, minced dill pickles, yellow mustard, white vinegar, sea salt, ground pepper, and smoked paprika until smooth and well combined. Set aside.
- Cook Ground Beef: Heat a large pan over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to break it up into crumbles.
- Season and Finish Beef: Strain out some of the excess fat from the cooked beef. Add the chopped yellow onion, sea salt, and ground pepper to the pan. Continue cooking for a couple more minutes until the onion softens and the beef is fully cooked with no pink remaining.
- Prepare Pizza Base: Place the pizza crust on a pizza pan or baking sheet ready for topping.
- Assemble Pizza: Evenly spread the cooked meat and onion mixture over the pizza crust, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake: Place the assembled pizza into the preheated oven and bake for 3 to 4 minutes or until the cheese has melted and started to bubble.
- Add Fresh Toppings: Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately top it with the shredded lettuce, sliced pickles, and drizzle or spread the prepared Big Mac sauce over the pizza.
- Serve: Slice the pizza into pieces and enjoy your flavorful Big Mac-inspired pizza creation!
Notes
- Use a pizza crust approximately 12 inches to create a balanced ratio of toppings to base.
- For extra flavor, you can caramelize the onions longer or add a bit of garlic powder to the meat mixture.
- Big Mac sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, making it handy for quick meals.
- Feel free to substitute cheddar with American cheese for a closer mimic of Big Mac’s original taste.
- Ensure to strain excess fat from the beef to prevent a soggy pizza crust.
- Use fresh shredded lettuce rather than iceberg for better texture and taste.
- Pickles can be adjusted in quantity according to your preference for tanginess.
