Crispy, flavorful Air Fryer Rice Paper Chips in three delicious variations: Basic, Everything Bagel, and Spicy Chili. These light and crunchy chips are easy to make, healthy, and perfect for snacking or serving with dips.

  • Total Time: 16 minutes
  • Yield: 6–8 servings

Ingredients

For Basic Chips:

  • 6–8 rice paper sheets (spring roll wrappers)
  • Warm water for soaking
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For Everything Bagel Version:

  • 6–8 rice paper sheets
  • Warm water for soaking
  • 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning
  • Pinch of garlic powder

For Spicy Chili Version:

  • 6–8 rice paper sheets
  • Warm water for soaking
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Rice Paper: Fill a shallow dish with warm water. Soak each rice paper sheet for 15–30 seconds until just pliable, not soggy. Lay the sheets on a clean towel and gently pat dry to remove excess moisture.
  2. Season: While the rice paper is still damp, evenly sprinkle your chosen seasoning over the surface. Gently press the seasoning into the paper with clean hands to help it adhere. Allow the sheets to rest for 1–2 minutes so the flavors set.
  3. Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the rice paper sheets in a single layer inside the air fryer basket; a slight overlap is acceptable. Air fry the sheets for 4–6 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown and the chips become crisp. Remove them carefully and let cool on a wire rack for about 30 seconds to maintain crunch.
  4. Serve: Break the rice paper into chip-sized pieces. Enjoy immediately for the best crispness. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days to retain freshness.

Notes

  • Do not soak the rice paper too long to avoid sogginess and tearing.
  • Adjust seasoning amounts to taste for milder or stronger flavors.
  • Cooking times might vary slightly based on your specific air fryer model.
  • Serve with your favorite dips such as guacamole, salsa, or hummus.
  • Store chips in an airtight container once cooled to keep them crisp.
